All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) President Asaduddin Owaisi, on Tuesday, launched a direct attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) saying that desperation was showing the faces of Prime Minister Modi and BJP leaders. He also predicted that the BJP would face defeat in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections.

“Desperation is there to be seen on faces of the Prime Minister and other BJP leaders. The results will not be on their expected lines. They wrongly assumed that losses in UP would be compensated in West Bengal and Odisha which is not going to happen. Everywhere in India they are going to lose seats,” he said while addressing the media.

The three-time Member of Parliament from Hyderabad said that the focus would be on the regional parties as they would play a crucial role in the formation of the next government at the Centre.

Rooting for the formation of Federal Front, Owaisi said that Telangana Chief Minister and Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) President K Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR) is moving in the right direction to form a front separate from the UPA and NDA.

“Till yesterday nobody knew Federal Front. Today they are recognizing it as an alternative. This will be good for the country,” he said referring to KCR’s meetings with Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and MK Stalin of the DMK.

Taking a dig at PM Modi’s interview to a news channel where he made some comments about the Balakot airstrikes in Pakistan, the AIMIM chief suggested that PM Modi should replace “chowkidar” in his name with “Air Vice Marshal” as he was deciding where to bomb and how to bomb.

He also questioned the PM over his silence on the rape case reported from Uttar Pradesh, saying that PM Modi’s hypocrisy and duplicity stand exposed.

“The Prime Minister is so arrogant that he does not want to do some introspection when it comes to him. Why is the PM not concerned about this woman in Hapur when he is so concerned about triple talaq and Muslim women,” asked Owaisi and predicted that this arrogance will prove to be PM Modi’s downfall.

Reacting to Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) Chief and actor Kamal Haasan’s comment that the first terrorist in independent India was a Hindu, referring to Mahatma Gandhi’s assassin Nathuram Godse, Owaisi wondered what else the killer of Mahatma Gandhi will be called.
