A 29-year-old youth was allegedly murdered in an attack with a sharp-edged weapon in South Delhi’s Devli, the police said on Thursday.

The deceased was identified as Gaurav Singhal who used to run a gym, as per locals.

The police received a call about the incident on the intervening night of Wednesday-Thursday at 12.30 am. The caller informed that the murder took place at Raju Park Extension.

When a police team reached the spot, it found the victim was already taken to the hospital by his family members, and was declared brought dead.

It is being said that the man was about to get married.

A FIR is being registered in this incident while efforts are underway to get to the unknown attacker.

The deceased’s body was shifted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) mortuary for post mortem.

Further investigation has been initiated into the incident, and all efforts will be made to identify the culprits behind the incident, a police official said.

Meanwhile, on the intervening night of Tuesday-Wednesday, a man was allegedly stabbed in his abdomen by a dhol wala (drummer) following an altercation during a wedding procession in Malviya nagar.

The accused dhol wala was from Begumpur, the police said, while the victim was said to be his relative, who was taken to Safdarjung hospital for treatment.
