A 40-year-old woman and her son lost their lives, while two others were injured following a wall collapse in Delhi’s Civil Lines amid heavy rainfall on Tuesday.
A senior police officer said the deceased, identified as Meera and her 17-year-old son, were trapped under the debris.

A Delhi Fire Service officer, in his statement, said, “We were alerted about the sudden collapse of a wall in the Civil Lines area at 9:55 in the morning and several people trapped under the rubble.”
With this information, a fire team, along with police officers, rushed to the spot to immediately initiate rescue operation.
A senior police officer said, “It was confirmed that two people were dead, while two others could be pulled out with injuries.”
“One of the injured was the 19-year-old elder son of Meera, while another was identified as Nanne, 35. Both of them were rushed to the hospital, where they are undergoing medical treatment,” the officer confirmed in his statement.
According to the officer, the collapsed wall was part of an under-construction building. Additionally, he stated that the rescue operation has now been concluded.
