In a crackdown on illegal immigration, the Delhi Police detained two Bangladeshi nationals from Mahipalpur, who had been living illegally in India since 2014, officials said on Sunday.
According to the police, the detained individuals have been identified as Shishir Hubert Rozario (35), a resident of Village Dhanun, Bangladesh, and Mohd. Tauhidur Rahman (33), from Village Khondokar Para, Maheshkhali, Bangladesh.

Notably, Rahman was previously involved in a case registered under the Foreigners Act in Gurugram’s Sector-40 police station in 2020, they added.
“Acting on a tipoff about illegal migrants seeking shelter in Mahipalpur, the team conducted a swift verification drive,” said Amit Goel, Deputy Commissioner of Police (southwest).
When the duo was questioned regarding their documentation, they failed to produce valid identification proof or a visa.
Upon sustained interrogation, they admitted to having entered India over 11 years ago and overstaying after their visas expired.
“After completing all legal and codal formalities, the Southwest District Police initiated the deportation process in coordination with the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO), Delhi,” the officer said.
