Three minors were detained by the police for allegedly stabbing a 39-year-old man to death on Monday night in Delhi’s Welcome area, it said on Tuesday.

The victim, Mustakeen, from Delhi’s Janta Mazdoor Colony, was rushed to the hospital, where he was declared dead by the attending medical team. Eventually, police registered a case under the relevant sections of the BNS at Welcome Police Station.

“We were informed about the incident on Monday at around 11:21 PM, when a man was stabbed,” a senior officer said and added, “After reaching the spot, which is Kudedaan in Janta Colony, we got to know that he had been taken to the hospital already, where he was declared brought dead by the attending doctors.”

“After registering a complaint regarding this matter, an investigation was taken up by our officers,” he said.

During the investigation, police identified the suspects, traced their location, and eventually got their hands on them. The three minors who were allegedly the suspects in this case were all residents of the Welcome area.

Police also recovered the weapon of the crime, a knife, from their possession. When questioned, they confessed that there was a quarrel between the deceased and the trio, so they stabbed him.

Further investigation is going on, the officer said.
