The Vigilance Unit of the Delhi Police has filed two separate cases under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, against three officials posted at Cyber Police Station, West District, Hari Nagar, officials said on Thursday.
According to the police, the action came as part of the force’s ongoing drive to curb corruption within its ranks.

The accused have been identified as Vijeta Gautam, Constable Sanjay, and Head Constable Rakesh Kumar.
The police said the first case was filed after a resident of Naraina Village informed the cops that he was called to the cyber police station, where Vijeta and Sanjay informed him that his Aadhaar and PAN had been misused for a Paytm Agent Merchant KYC account.
The officers allegedly demanded Rs 50,000 to avoid implicating him in a false case.
With this information, an inquiry was taken up by the cops, and they found the allegations substantiated, leading to the registration of an FIR under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, read with Section 61(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023.
Notably, in another case, a woman, a native of Uttam Nagar, complained that the same officers demanded and accepted Rs 1.85 lakh from her and her husband to dismiss a case related to a fake Instagram ID.
After making the payment, the complainant alleged, the officers kept on demanding more money. Vigilance inquiries confirmed the charges, and an FIR was registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
The Vigilance Unit is investigating both cases. Officials have urged the public to report any demands for illegal gratification by police personnel on the helpline number 1064.
