The Minister lauded the consistent efforts of the college faculty, trust, and administration for positively shaping the lives of thousands of students over the decades.

He expressed heartfelt gratitude to the current and former faculty members of the college and said, “You have guided thousands of young minds since 1959. I commend your contribution in upholding the prestige of this institution and taking it to even greater heights.”

In his address, Sood called upon the students to be prepared for the challenges of life and to begin thinking about the direction their lives will take beyond college. He remarked, “The three years of college are often when a student experiences the most freedom. But life after college comes with responsibilities. It is important to reflect now on how we can contribute to our college, our society, and our nation.”

Returning to the institution where he was once a student, Sood became emotional as he took the stage as Chief Guest. “My foremost identity is that of an alumnus of Atma Ram Sanatan Dharma College — and I take great pride in that,” he said.

Expressing hope for India’s future, he said, “I firmly believe that India will become a developed nation by 2047 and is already on track to become the world’s third-largest economy. In this transformative journey, the youth and academic institutions like the University of Delhi have a vital role to play.”
