The Crime Branch Unit of Delhi Police has arrested two alleged shooters associated with the Kala Jathedi-Priyavart Kala gang over a firing incident in northwest Delhi’s Qutubgarh area, an official said on Saturday.
The accused, identified as Prince alias Sunny (22), a resident of Katewara in Delhi, and Sumit Rana (25), from Haryana’s Sonipat, allegedly opened fire at a shop in the area to intimidate the owner, a senior police officer said.

Police have also recovered two country-made pistols and two live rounds of .315 bore from their possession.
According to the police, both accused were wanted in a firing case registered at Kanjhawala police station, where three assailants had opened fire at a shop in Qutubgarh, allegedly to intimidate a local resident.
“The complainant, who knew the attackers personally, identified them as Sumit, Ashu, and Sunny,” said Pankaj Kumar, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch).
The officer continued in his statement further that, acting on the intel received by officers, a team laid a trap near Rohini’s Sector 27 on Friday.
“Around 11:15 pm, the police intercepted two suspects riding from Khera Khurd and recovered the illegal firearms. A fresh case was registered under the Arms Act at the Crime Branch police station,” DCP Kumar mentioned.
While interrogating the accused, Prince confessed to his involvement in the Kanjhawala firing and revealed that he had been working under the directions of Priyavart Kala, who is currently lodged in jail under the MCOCA.
Prince, who has been declared as a “bad character” by the Bawana police station, has a criminal history of 14 previous cases, including theft and firing incidents.
“His associate, Sumit Rana, previously involved in four cases, joined the gang through mutual associates from school days,” the officer said.
DCP Kumar added that the gang was trying to maintain its dominance in northwest Delhi by spreading fear through such targeted shootings.
