“Delhi can expect light to moderate rain or thundershowers over the next two days, followed by very light to light rain in the early hours of Sunday,” the IMD said.
The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) reported that Delhi’s Air Quality Index (AQI) stood at 97 on Saturday, placing it in the ‘Satisfactory’ category.
Meanwhile, flood relief camps have been set up by the East District Magistrate in the Mayur Vihar area in response to the rising water level of the Yamuna River.
The Yamuna continued to flow close to the danger mark on Friday. Drone footage from Loha Pul showed water levels nearing the critical point.
The river has crossed the danger mark only once this season, inundating nearby residential areas. However, the fluctuating water level has kept authorities on high alert. Temporary relief camps have been established in schools to accommodate residents living near the Yamuna.
