The Outer North District police in Delhi said on Sunday that they have arrested one suspect who was involved in the kidnapping of a truck driver and the theft of his cargo last week.
Hareshwar Swami, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer North District), said, “A special team was formed which analysed technical evidence and CCTV footage, leading to the arrest of one accused, identified as Lekhraj alias Kala, and the recovery of 55 bags of maize and the e-rickshaw used in the crime.”

The incident occurred on the evening of October 15 when the driver, Pramod Kumar, was ambushed after he stopped his truck near the Nangli Poona underpass. The assailants, who had staged a fake argument, assaulted him, snatched his phone, and then held him hostage while they stole around 80 bags of maize from his vehicle.
The police added that a search is underway for the four remaining suspects and that further investigation is in progress.
