The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has taken a significant step towards strengthening public infrastructure and community facilities in the national capital by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with NBCC (India) Ltd for the construction of a world-class auditorium and community centre in Shalimar Bagh constituency under the Chief Minister Development Fund.
The MoU was signed on May 29 in the presence of MCD Commissioner Sanjeev Khirwar and NBCC Chairman and Managing Director Dr K.P. Mahadevaswamy.

The proposed project aims to create a modern and inclusive public facility equipped with advanced amenities for social, cultural, educational, and administrative activities.
The state-of-the-art auditorium will have a seating capacity of around 1,000 people and is expected to serve as a premier venue for public events, seminars, cultural programmes, official functions, and community gatherings.
In addition, the project will feature two fully equipped conference halls, each with a seating capacity of approximately 100 people, to host meetings, workshops, training programmes, and public interaction sessions.
The initiative reflects MCD’s continued commitment to enhancing civic infrastructure and improving public utility services across Delhi.
The partnership with NBCC (India) Ltd, a Government of India enterprise known for executing landmark infrastructure projects across the country, is expected to ensure high standards of quality, timely execution, and modern architectural design.
The upcoming auditorium and community centre is expected to emerge as a major social and cultural hub for residents of Shalimar Bagh and adjoining areas.
The facility will provide a dedicated platform for educational institutions, resident welfare associations, cultural organisations, social groups and government departments to conduct a wide range of programmes and activities in a professional and well-equipped environment.
