MCD intensifies efforts to increase voting percentage in LS polls
The civic body has roped in various commercial establishments, offering discounts to voters who cast their votes, said MCD in an official statement on Tuesday.
The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) on Wednesday took action against unauthorised construction in the Central Zone area of the national capital.
“MCD today carried out a sealing drive in the Abul Fazal Enclave-I and Shaheen Bagh areas in Lajpat Nagar Central Zone. During this drive to demoralize the unscrupulous builders , building department has sealed 25 number of properties in Abul Fazal Enclave-I, Shaheen Bagh, Jamia Nagar, Zakir Nagar, Batla House, under the jurisdiction of Police Station Jamia Nagar and Shaheen Bagh,” the civic body said in a statement.
The MCD affirmed that it strictly adheres to a zero-tolerance policy towards unauthorised construction activities and would continue to carry out demolition/sealing actions/actions against illegal plotting / colonization in the coming weeks with higher intensity.

In addition to this, the civic body said it also carried out demolition drives in Mehrauli, Fatehpur Beri, Vasant Kunj areas of South Zone.
The demolition action against the unauthorised construction was taken in five properties in these areas of South Zone, it added.
