A 24-year-old man sustained injuries after being shot at by two unidentified motorcycle-borne assailants in the New Usmanpur area that lies in the east of the city, Delhi Police said on Monday.
The police said that the incident took place on Sunday evening when the sufferer, who has been identified as Abdul Wahid, was returning home on a scooter along with his cousins after shutting his shop in Gandhi Nagar.

“Wahid, a resident of Jagjit Nagar, was riding a scooter with his cousins Kalam (24) and Zahid (13) when two men intercepted them near 2nd Pushta,” a senior officer said.
Adding to his statement further, he said, “The assassins allegedly shot at him with a pistol before escaping from the spot.”
Following the gunshot, Wahid’s family members took him to the JPC Hospital for medical treatment, where the doctors said that his condition is stable, the officer said.
Based on the statement of the eyewitnesses, a case of attempted murder has been registered, and further probe into this matter is ongoing by the police, the officer mentioned.
The crime team, along with the forensic experts, was called to the spot to collect evidence, police said, adding that multiple teams have been tasked to ascertain the identity of the suspects.
