Wahi said the Municipal Corporation of Delhi is organising various programmes to commemorate the completion of 12 years of the tenure of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
As part of this initiative 35 vehicles have been inducted today to bolster the sanitation fleet of the Rohini zone, the Delhi Mayor said.
He said the inclusion of these vehicles would strengthen the waste management infrastructure in the Rohini zone and improve sanitation services in the area.
Wahi said the Municipal Corporation of Delhi is making every effort to achieve the goal of a clean and green Delhi as envisioned by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta.
He added that vehicles such as Hyva trucks, JCB machines, tractor-trolleys and dumpers have been inducted into the Rohini zone’s sanitation fleet today which will accelerate the pace of garbage collection in the area.
Wahi said public cooperation is also essential in the mission to make Delhi clean and hygienic.
He urged the citizens of Delhi to segregate waste at the source before depositing it into the garbage collection vehicle.
Wahi stated that in accordance with the new waste management rules waste should be segregated into four categories.
“By making cleanliness a habit we can contribute to making Delhi clean and hygienic,” he added.
