As part of the 79th Independence Day celebrations, Delhi Legislative Assembly complex will be open to the general public on August 14 and 15, from 5 pm to 8 pm, where the citizens will be able to tour the 115-year-old iconic building, while they will also be shown historical sites within the premises.

The Vidhan Sabha will be specially illuminated in the evening, creating a festive and patriotic atmosphere for visitors, the assembly secretariat shared on Tuesday.

According to officials, the occasion will be graced by the presence of Speaker Vijender Gupta, Deputy Speaker Mohan Singh Bisht, Ministers, MLAs and other dignitaries.
The public will get a chance to explore Vidhan Sabha’s architectural heritage, and learn about its pivotal role in the democratic governance of the National Capital Territory of Delhi.
The cultural presentations by the Sahitya Kala Academy will be based on the country’s rich artistic heritage, and will enable the audience to connect more with the nation’s diverse traditions and shared cultural identity.
Notably, on this occasion, visitors will not require any prior registration, and on both the days, starting from 5 pm, visitors will be allowed entry after a security check, while they will have to display an identification document such as an Aadhaar card.
According to a secretariat official, these initiatives aim to instill a deep and enduring sense of patriotism and national pride among the people, inspiring them to contribute meaningfully to the progress and prosperity of the nation.
