Heavy downpour was reported in several areas, including Mandi House, Talkatora Road, and Feroz Shah Road, causing traffic snarls during the morning hours.
The rain, however, also brought respite to the Delhiites from the heat as the capital city has been witnessing high temperatures in September. On Monday, the maximum temperature was recorded at 37.5 degrees C and 38.1 degrees C on Sunday.
Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an ‘orange’ alert for rain in Delhi, upgrading from its earlier issued ‘yellow’ alert.
As per the weather forecast, moderate rains accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds are likely in Delhi over the next few hours.
