During the inspection, the minister reached out to the locals for an assessment of the issues with regard to waste disposal. The residents apprised him of various problems faced by the community.

The minister shared that he has been told by residents of Mahavir Enclave, part-III that their neighborhood had one garbage dumping point where they could dispose of the waste. As a result, garbage is spilling on the road causing enormous inconvenience to the residents of several wards.

During the inspection, the minister came across with regard to the waste segregation, which was not being done in proper manner.

The residents of the area alleged that it was due to the collusion between some civic body staff and private rickshaw operators, private waste collectors also were dumping garbage at a particular spot.

The minister instructed the DC (Najafgarh) and DC (West) to ensure that part of the waste from the area is diverted to Rajapuri as the present site is too small to handle garbage from multiple wards. He directed MCD and PWD officials to immediately prepare a plan to expand the dumping area by using adjacent vacant land.

Taking note of the complaints that garbage collection vehicles are avoiding certain lanes, he issued a stern warning to the MCD sanitation inspector, directing him to ensure that garbage-collection vehicles reach every lane on a daily basis, and deposit the collected waste at the designated site.

finding construction and demolition debris lying on Pankha Road causing dust pollution and encroachment, Sood reprimanded the PWD AE and JE for negligence and directed them to immediately send the debris to the C&D Waste Plant and ensure that no such waste is found on the roads in future, while ordering necessary action against the officials concerned.

He lamented that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA and councillor of the area has not taken any meaningful steps to resolve these long-standing issues for the past 10 years.
