Four people have lost their lives, while one is injured, in a fire that erupted at an electronics store in Delhi’s Raja Garden on Monday, the officials said.

The deceased have been identified as Aayushi (22), Payal (20), Amandeep Kaur (22), and Ravi (28).

According to the Delhi Fire Service, they were informed about the fire at 3.08 pm. “We were informed that an electronics shop is ablaze on the first floor of a four-story building.”

“After the information, five fire tenders were rushed to the spot. On reaching the scene, it was found by the officers that four people had fallen unconscious due to the smoke and were taken to a nearby hospital by CATS ambulance,” he added.

“Three women and a man died in the blaze, while another man is under treatment at a hospital,” he said. The rescue operation was concluded at 4.10 pm,” the officer mentioned.

The preliminary inquiry suggests that five people who were working in the showroom on the third floor were trapped in the smoke.

The firefighters rescued the five and admitted them to the hospital, where three women and one man, who worked there, were declared dead in the hospital, while one of their acquaintances, Sandeep, is undergoing treatment in the hospital.
