A fire broke out at an electronics shop on Roshanara Road under the Subzi Madi police station here on Wednesday and was extinguished. Thanks to the fire service officials, it was brought under control before any eventuality.

“A call was received at around 1158/59 hrs regarding a fire at a shop on Roshanara Road. Total four fire tenders were rushed to the site,” Delhi Fire Services (DFS) Director Atul Garg said.

He said the fire had been completely doused.

Earlier, the Delhi Police said in a statement, “A major fire was reported in an electronics store on Roshanara Road, Police Station Subzi Madi, dealing in items like air conditioners, coolers, and geysers. The team of PS Subzi Mandi including the SHO immediately rushed there and residents from neighboring houses were evacuated as a precautionary measure.”

“Prima facie, the cause of the fire is suspected to be an electrical short circuit. Appropriate legal action will be taken,” it said.

No casualties or injuries have been reported in the incident.
