Chairing Cabinet Delhi Minister for Development Kapil Mishra chaired a high-level meeting held here on Tuesday to assess the planning and implementation of piped natural gas (PNG) infrastructure across the Karawal Nagar constituency.

During the meeting, which was aimed at ensuring clean and efficient energy access to every household of the city, Mishra directed concerned officials to ensure that the pipeline laying work is carried out on priority. “This project should be implemented without delay. If there are any land-related issues, they must be addressed with the help of RWAs so that residents can take benefit from this essential facility as soon as possible,” said the cabinet minister.

Stating that the government has taken a firm decision to extend PNG supply to every household in the Karawal Nagar constituency, he said the pipeline laying work in Sadatpur K, L, M, and N blocks, as well as Sadatpur Extension B Block is expected to commence shortly while in Dayalpur C Block the PNG lines have already been laid and are ready for activation.

“In the next few months, the PNG infrastructure will be extended to several areas within the constituency including Sonia Vihar and Sonia Vihar Extension, Sabhapur, Khajoori Khas, Biharipur, Sherpur, Tukhmirpur, various blocks of Sadatpur (A to F), Milan Garden, Dayalpur E and F Blocks, Shri Ram Colony, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Colony, Mukand Vihar, West Karawal Nagar, Ankur Enclave, West Kamal Vihar and Chand Bagh,” the minister said.

Adding that the massive expansion is aimed at promoting safe, affordable and environment-friendly energy for all residents of the region, he stated that the initiative is in line with the Delhi government’s broader commitment to infrastructure strengthening and sustainability.
