BJP accepts K Annamalai’s resignation; speculation grows over future plans

Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva on Saturday said that Diwali is an important festival in the country and a part of the culture which is associated with Lord Ram, and brings happiness in people’ lives.
He accused the previous government in the national capital of allegedly attempting to create hurdles in celebration of festivals like Diwali.

Sachdeva further said that now with the BJP-led government in the national capital which is headed by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, efforts are underway to revive to the old culture and traditions of the city, which were being overlooked.

He praised the way the celebrations held at Kartavya Path on the occasion are going to send across a wonderful message.
Sachdeva, while speaking on the sidelines of a Diwali Milan event held at the state unit office of the BJP, accused the previous government of allegedly misrepresenting facts before the Supreme Court to maintain the ban on all kinds of firecrackers during Diwali.
He added that this year, the BJP- led government advocated for celebrating the festival with green crackers before the top court, which has now allowed it.
“This Diwali will reflect both cultural and environmental harmony in Delhi,” said Sachdeva.
He also said that with 1.5 lakh diyas on Kartavya Path, it is going to be a historic thing done by a government in the city.
Meanwhile, speaking on the occasion, CM Rekha Gupta thanked everyone at the party’s state office, and the people of the national capital, assuring that the government will strive to meet expectations of people in terms of governance.
She urged people to come together and make the festival a symbol of cultural consciousness and responsibility.
