Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Sunday alleged that the previous government neglected the national capital’s rural belt, stating that many areas of the city’s villages struggled with severe waterlogging, broken roads and the absence of sewer lines and proper drainage systems.

She remarked that previous governments did not take sufficient interest in understanding or addressing the problems faced by rural communities, but now the present regime has intensified efforts with initiatives to address these pending issues.

According to Gupta, who was at the BJP workers ‘Tridev conference at Dichau Kalan in Najafgarh, her government has undertaken development after closely understanding the real issues of village areas, and working to provide permanent solutions to issues.

Gupta described the ‘Tridevs,’ block-in-charges, booth pramukhs and shakti kendra convenors as the backbone of the organisation.

Addressing the people in the area, Gupta said, “You have supported your MP and MLA with an overwhelming majority. Now is the time to send an even stronger message by ensuring a decisive victory for your ward candidate, reaffirming that Najafgarh is united on the path of development.”

Gupta said that her government has prioritised the development of Delhi’s rural belt and their colony areas by providing adequate budgetary resources to all the public representatives.

She stated that major projects related to drains, roads, sewerage and other essential civic facilities have gained substantial momentum now, adding that upcoming projects in outer Delhi areas, such as the Kirari–Najafgarh belt, will help resolve long-pending challenges.

Reiterating the government’s commitment to holistic development, the CM assured that no project in the region would suffer from a lack of funds.

She praised BJP’s public representatives, noting that they have worked selflessly, without any personal motive, and that this spirit of service will continue to drive development in the future.
