During a special coordination meeting held at the Delhi Police Headquarters on Wednesday, the Delhi Traffic Police, along with multiple civic agencies, reviewed the traffic congestion scenario in the national capital.
The multi-agency coordination meet was chaired by Special Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Manish Agarwal, who discussed and reviewed the progress Delhi Traffic Police had made in mitigating congestion points, ensuring monsoon readiness, and implementing traffic management measures.

During the meeting, a comprehensive presentation was made on the issues taken up with various stakeholder agencies, the action taken so far and the current status of the proposed interventions.
According to officials, the progress achieved so far reflects the positive outcomes of the collaborative efforts of all stakeholder agencies.
Senior Traffic Police officers, including Joint Commissioner of Police Sanjay Tyagi, Additional Commissioner of Police Dinesh Gupta, DCP Traffic SK Singh, and senior officials from National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), Delhi Metro Rail Corporation, Transport department, Delhi Transport Corporation, PWD, MCD, TPDDL, and the Delhi Jal Board attended the meeting.
Sources say extensive work, using advanced technology and inter-agency coordination, is underway to find solutions to traffic congestion woes.
Infrastructure interventions, such as improving the on-ground situation with betterment of the intersections, identification and rectification of choke points, improving lanes etc will be carried out.
Measures are also being discussed to address major bottle-necks, improvement of roads, and their maintenance, removal of encroachments, and several other factors.
The involvement of multiple agencies is expected to resolve issues in a better and swift manner as the agency concerned can execute the solution swiftly.
With the use of technology and analytics, the traffic police have noted hourly comparisons of congestion on routes.
Water-logging prone locations, areas with high traffic movement, and conditions of roads, ongoing works, their impact, and such factors were also discussed in the meeting, and accordingly the officials noted the findings to chalk out workable solutions.
