The Delhi Police have reunited an abandoned toddler with his family in South Delhi, the police said on Sunday.

On Saturday, the police was informed about an abandoned child at the roundabout near the Pilanji village through a PCR call. Soon after, a team from the Kotla Mubarakpur Police Station rushed to the spot.

Thankfully, the police found the three-year-old at the spot and launched a search for his guardians or parents. But initially, they met with no success.

Police teams then, under the supervision of ACP Defence Colony, intensified their search considering the sensitivity of the matter as the child was very young.

Human intelligence was deployed, photos of the child were circulated through social media, and WhatsApp groups, and RWAs were also shown to people in markets.

Finally, the efforts of the team bore fruits when the location of the child’s parents was zeroed in on Pilanji, New Delhi. Once the child was recognised by his family, he was handed over to them safely, under operation MILAP.

In recognition of their quick response to the situation and efforts to reunite the child with his parents, the police personnel involved in the mission are being rewarded suitably, a senior police official informed.
