In an effort to promote the spirit of unity and integrity on the occasion of the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, the Delhi Police on the occasion of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s 150th birthday anniversary organised the ‘Run for Unity’ events simultaneously across all police stations in the national capital that witnessed participation of force personnel and citizens.
A total of seven major events (one each) were held across all six territorial ranges and Transport Range of the Delhi Police, covering the entire national capital, remembering country’s first home minister, Sardar Patel, also known as the Iron Man of India, who had integrated the princely states in the newly independent nation.

In the southern range, the Run for Unity commenced from the entrance of Qutub Minar, where Special Commissioner of Police Madhup Tewari and other senior officers led the event and inspired the participants, including public and force personnel.
The ekta diwas ceremonies were also held at all police stations, where officers and staff reaffirmed their commitment to uphold national unity, integrity, and security.
In the central range, the event was held at the DDU Park, and was graced by Ravindra Singh Yadav, Special Commissioner Law & Order, cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal and senior officers.
Tree plantation drives were also conducted at various police station premises, promoting environmental awareness and unity.
Similarly, senior police officers and the public took part in the events held across the city, inspiring the younger generations towards the unity and the duties towards the country, and following the right path.
The Run for Unity events also included the pledge taking ceremony, during which the participants reaffirmed their commitment to preserving the unity, integrity, and security of the nation.
