Delhi Police have taken steps to provide digital services to citizens: Rai

The Delhi Police have taken various measures to provide digital services to the citizens, including senior citizen mobile app, Himmat Plus App, Cyber Crime and safety Helpline Theft e- FIR, lost report, and tenant verification.

In a written reply to a question in the Rajya Sabha, Minister of State in the Ministry of Home Affairs Nityanand Rai stated that modernization of police forces is a continuous process.

He said that the government provides Central assistance to states and Union Territories (UTs) for modernizing the police forces under the scheme of ‘Assistance to States and UTs for Modernization of Police’.

Under the scheme, the states and UTs are provided Central assistance for acquisition of advanced weaponry, all types of intelligence equipment including Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), Night Vision Devices (NVDs), CCTV surveillance systems and body worn camera systems; modern communication equipment and state-of-the-art equipment for security, training, forensic, cybercrime, traffic policing, etc.

In addition, the Delhi Police also incurs expenditure on acquisition of physical and technical infrastructure for modernization of the police force out of the regular budget grant provided by the Government of India.

Important Citizen Centric Digital Services by the national capital’s police also includes, provision of applying for Arms License online, Sashakti Enrollment for women and children, Motor Vehicle Theft e-FIR, Integrated Complaint Monitoring System (ICMS), Traffic Challan e-Payment, Domestic Help Verification, Pending Traffic Challan (e-Notice), Un-claimed/ stolen Vehicle Search, Police Clearance Certificate (PCC), Tenant Verification, and Integrated Complaint Monitoring System (ICMS).
