While probing into this case, the cops nabbed four women from the Sarai Kale Khan-Nizamuddin Metro station while they were attempting to flee.

“The arrested women were identified as Laxmi, alias Jyoti (40); Sanjana (22); Sandhya (20); and Jahnvi (22), all natives of Shadipur’s Kathputli Colony,” a senior police officer mentioned.

During the sustained interrogation with them, it emerged that the accused operated as a gang and targeted unsuspecting passengers in crowded trains during peak rush hours, the officer said.

The officer mentioned in his statement, “Their syndicate typically identified vulnerable commuters, distracted them in the rush, and stole valuables such as cash and jewelry before quickly deboarding at the next station.”

As per the information provided by the police, a sum total of Rs 2,000 was confiscated from Laxmi, and she has been arrested, while the other three accused were charged as per legal provisions.
