Following an early morning encounter, Delhi Police nabbed three suspected members of the Gogi gang in Rohini, officials said on Saturday.
Police said that the arrested men have been identified as Lallu (25), Irfan (21), and Nitesh (30).

“The trio was intercepted while allegedly en route to carry out a shooting outside the residence of a person affiliated with the Gau Rakshak Dal,” a senior officer said.
Investigators revealed that the intended target had previously called for a ‘Maha Sabha’ to protest an earlier incident where Lallu and his accomplices reportedly assaulted three individuals in a case of mob lynching.
A video of the assault was later circulated on Instagram by Lallu to flaunt his ties with the Gogi gang and assert gang influence.
In the early hours of the Saturday morning, police received a lead on Lallu that he, along with his associates, was planning to travel in a white car to carry out a shooting outside the residence-cum-office of the same individual in Avantika, Rohini.
“Their planned route was expected to take them through Sector-24, Rohini, as part of an attempt to assert their gang’s dominance in the area,” the officer mentioned in his statement.
Around 2:40 a.m., near Bankey Bihari Mandir in Sector-24, a police team spotted a vehicle matching the description and signalled it to stop.
However, the suspects attempted to flee, ramming their vehicle into the police patrol car. They exited the car and opened fire while trying to escape.
The police immediately took defensive positions and returned fire. During the exchange, two of the suspects sustained gunshot wounds to their legs.
“One was apprehended on the spot, while two others initially escaped by scaling a wall near Ganda Nala, Rithala,” the officer said.
Both injured suspects were later shifted to a hospital for treatment. Police confirmed that a total of six rounds were fired by the officers, while the suspects fired approximately six to seven rounds in return.
