Accusing the AAP of disrespecting the Constitution with no regard for legislative norms, the mayor called out the leaders of the Opposition for indulging in similar acts of lawlessness every time. “When AAP held power in the MCD for two and a half years, they did not allow the formation of special and ad-hoc committees. Now that the Bharatiya Janata Party has formed the government in the MCD, these committee elections are being conducted. AAP’s policies are against constitutional and legal principles. They thrive on a politics of blame and disruption because they are unwilling to accept constitutional order,” Iqbal remarked.

Singh later congratulated all the newly elected Chairpersons and Vice-Chairpersons of the Municipal Corporation Department’s (MCDs) ad-hoc committees. In a press statement, he affirmed the commitment of the saffron party for the betterment of Delhi’s citizens.
