Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva on Thursday alleged that during its ten-year tenure, the previous Arvind Kejriwal government’s claim of establishing 37 “Schools of Excellence,” has turned out to be a deception in reality.

Sachdeva claimed that, during these ten years, the AAP government built only six new “Schools of Excellence” while the remaining 31 were pre-existing Rajkiya Pratibha Vikas Vidyalayas (Government Talent Development Schools).

Sharpening his attack on the AAP, the Delhi BJP chief called these “Schools of Excellence” “Schools of Deception” with claims that students who passed Class 12 from these institutions struggled to get admission for higher education, because they had been affiliated with a new board (DBSE) by the previous regime.

Now, the Rekha Gupta government, acting in the interest of students’ careers, has re-affiliated the 37 Delhi government schools with the globally recognized Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), he added.

He further said that the CBSE is a globally renowned education and examination board, and schools across the country, and even in several other countries follow its curriculum and examination system.

Sachdeva alleged that, in stark contrast, Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia, for political reasons, had created a new local Delhi Board of School Education (DBSE),and linked the renamed “Schools of Excellence” to this new board, thereby jeopardizing the future of the students.

The BJP leader pointed out that because these schools were registered under a separate board, they were not recognized by most universities, and students who completed class 12 from them were unable to secure admissions anywhere.

He said it would be more appropriate now for AAP leaders to welcome the re-registration of CM Shri Schools with CBSE, rather than resorting to baseless political statements, keeping students’ welfare in mind.
