Dhaka’s quake aftermath: another warning on infra unpreparedness

At least five people, including a woman, were injured after the roof of a newly-constructed structure on a four-storey house collapsed at Jwala Nagar in east Delhi on Tuesday.
According to the Delhi Fire Services (DFS), they received a call regarding the incident at around 9.50 am, prompting the deployment of five fire tenders.

A rescue operation was launched by the team to ascertain whether anyone was trapped beneath the debris, they said.

The Delhi Police reported that Avinish, one of the family members, said construction work was underway on the third floor to build a hall when the roof unexpectedly gave way.
The police said the injured included two family members, a tenant, and two labourers working at the site.
DFS officers added that rescue operations were ongoing to ensure no one was trapped under the rubble.
