Speaking on the occasion, Sachdeva said political parties operate in every state, but going by the kind of events unfolding in West Bengal over the past few days, the situation is extremely concerning. “Appeasement and violence have become the norm for the TMC. The brutal attack on BJP MP Khagen Murmu, who belongs to the tribal community, is deeply disturbing for it took place while he was distributing relief material in flood-affected areas,” he added.

Sachdeva further alleged that TMC’s associates attacked a public representative and sent him to the ICU and added that it is ‘hooliganism’ that is prevailing in the state.

The BJP leader, calling this alleged attack on a public representative a direct attack on democracy, said the chief minister of the state should be be held accountable for the incident. “She cannot shirk her responsibility,” he said, adding that, “Bengal, once known for its rich culture, heritage, and great personalities like Rabindranath Tagore, Ramakrishna Paramhansa, and Subhash Chandra Bose, is now witnessing violence.”

He said the protest in Delhi is proof that the people of the city stand with the people of Bengal, claiming that they are suffering under the present rule.

Sachdeva claimed that the people of West Bengal no longer want Mamata Banerjee to be in power, and this will be clearly reflected in the upcoming elections.

Speaking on the occasion, Chandolia alleged, “Mamata Banerjee’s government is selectively persecuting BJP leaders,” and claimed that the people of Bengal are now fed up with her rule.
