Delhi BJP’s vice-president Dinesh Pratap Singh and its Purvanchal Morcha chief Santosh Ojha, in a joint statement on Sunday, strongly condemned an allegedly misleading statement made by AAP MLA Sanjeev Jha, who had claimed that due to LPG crisis, migrants from Purvanchal and other states residing in Delhi are facing a livelihood crisis.
According to the AAP leader, these migrants may be forced to migrate back to their natives and thereby lose their voting rights. According to the BJP leaders, the claim is misleading as only a negligible number of migrants have left Delhi due to the shortage of cooking gas.
Dinesh Pratap Singh said Purvanchalis and other migrant communities living in the national capital have not forgotten how, during the COVID lockdown, the then Arvind Kejriwal government allegedly forced them to return to their villages.

Singh and Ojha said the Centre, along with the Delhi government, is actively working at the sub-division level to help the economically weaker sections obtain gas cylinders through bookings under the Ujjwala Scheme. They called the migrants from Purvanchal and other states living in Delhi are part of the extended BJP family and the party stands with every valid voter.
They added that while there is indeed a minor shortage of gas, there is no real crisis with regular uninterrupted supply and cylinders are available on booking.
Singh added that even commercial connection holders are receiving about 75 per cent regular supply, and the government has temporarily allowed cooking on coal.
The BJP leaders further stated if there is any shortage, it is mainly affecting those without valid connections, who were already dependent on illegal open-market refilling of small cylinders.
