The Assam unit of the Congress on Wednesday released a 40-page charge sheet against Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s administration, accusing it of “misrule, corruption, and nepotism”.

Congress general secretary Jitendra Singh unveiled the document containing numerous allegations against the ruling coalition.

Prepared by the United Opposition Forum Assam (UOFA), consisting of 16 parties, the document aligns with the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA).

Singh emphasized, “The charge sheet highlights various instances of misrule within both the Narendra Modi government and the Himanta Biswa Sarma-led state government, encapsulating 60 significant charges.”

Asserting confidence, Singh claimed that the opposition alliance is well-positioned to secure the majority of Lok Sabha seats in the north eastern state.

According to the 16-party United Opposition Forum Assam (UOFA), the Congress party will contest in 13 seats, leaving the Dibrugarh seat for the Asom Jatiya Parishad.
