Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta will celebrate Karwa Chauth with women from across the National Capital at the Chief Minister Jan Seva Sadan on Friday. This will be her first Karwa Chauth since she assumed office. She described it as a deeply emotional and personally significant occasion.
Gupta said she was looking forward to joining women in observing the festival that “symbolises devotion, love, and togetherness”. According to official communication by the Chief Minister’s Office, women legislators, wives of MPs, senior officers, social workers, and members of her family are expected to attend the event.

Having hosted such gatherings for over 15 years, Gupta said Karwa Chauth for her is “not just about rituals but about solidarity and shared joy”. The event will feature traditional prayers, cultural performances, storytelling sessions and folk songs.
Through the celebration, Gupta said she hopes to highlight the strength of Indian traditions while creating space for women to connect and share their stories. “Karwa Chauth is not only a personal expression of devotion; it is a celebration of our culture and collective strength as women,” she added.
“Through this celebration, we reaffirm that tradition and modern life can go hand in hand preserving our values while embracing change,” she observed.
