Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Sunday said that the Delhi Government’s flagship Ayushman Arogya Mandir campaign is transforming the capital’s healthcare system by bringing affordable and quality medical services closer to residents.
Under this initiative, 168 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs are currently functional across Delhi, and 187 more are expected to become operational by December.

Highlighting the government’s commitment to universal health coverage, the CM said the campaign is guided by the principle of “Time to Care” and aims to make healthcare accessible in every neighbourhood.
“This historic initiative ensures that no Delhi resident has to travel far for essential healthcare. Our focus is on accessibility, affordability, and quality,” Gupta said.
CM Gupta announced that the government will no longer run health centres from rented spaces, as sufficient government-owned buildings are now available for the new Mandirs.
These centres are being developed under the Ayushman Bharat programme, upgrading sub-health centres and primary health centres into comprehensive primary health facilities.
Unlike the earlier Mohalla Clinics, which Gupta said were limited by poor infrastructure, the new Ayushman Arogya Mandirs are equipped with advanced facilities and modern diagnostic systems.
They will provide a wide range of services, including OPD consultations, free medicines, diagnostic tests, maternal and child healthcare, family planning, management of communicable and non-communicable diseases, elderly and mental healthcare, and emergency medical assistance.
Gupta said the Ayushman Arogya Mandirs follow the Indian Public Health Standards (IPHS), ensuring uniformity in infrastructure, staff, and services across all centres.
“We are ensuring uninterrupted healthcare where Mohalla Clinics earlier existed. Residents are now receiving continuous services through nearby Arogya Mandirs or government health facilities,” she added.
The Chief Minister emphasised that, beyond medical treatment, the campaign aims to build public trust and promote a culture of wellness. “Ayushman Arogya Mandirs are redefining Delhi’s healthcare identity—giving it a new face and direction,” Gupta said.
