Security tightened at railways stations in Haryana

While stating this on Tuesday, additional director general of police, law and order, Navdeep Singh Virk said that intensive checking is being carried out in all trains passing through the railway stations in the State.

Haryana Police has increased the security arrangements in and around the railway stations across the state after terror group Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) threatened to target major railway stations in different parts of the country.

While stating this on Tuesday, additional director general of police, law and order, Navdeep Singh Virk said that intensive checking is being carried out in all trains passing through the railway stations in the State. Elaborate manpower has been deputed to ensure proper monitoring in and around the railway stations.

As a precautionary measure, regular checks are being made and the vehicles parked outside the railway stations were also being checked. Police force is taking extra precautions in view of the threat.

The Government Railway Police (GRP) and Railway Protection Force (RPF) are conducting joint operations to search for any suspicious elements within the premises of railway stations. In addition, GRP personnel along with RPF conducting a joint drive at the railway stations to instill a sense of security among the passengers, added Virk.
