Earlier, the AAP’s Members of Legislative Assembly (MLAs) also started canvassing in favour of its candidate from the constituency, which is a stronghold of AAP since 2014.

AAP candidates along with different MLAs held door-to-door meetings with supporters and also addressed ‘nukad meetings’ in villages and towns in the constituency on Monday.

The AAP candidate along with MLAs including Jagdeep Kamboj Goldy, Jagroop Singh Gill, Harmeet Singh PathanMajra, Gurmeet Singh Khudia, Fauja Singh Sarari, Jagdeep Singh Kaka Brar, Davinderjit Singh Laddi, Aman Arora and Tarunpreet Singh Sond campaigned in the constituency.

The incumbent Chief Minister Mann remained a two-time member parliamentary from this seat in 2014 and 2019. This seat fell vacant after Mann resigned as MP following his triumph from the Dhuri constituency in the state Assembly elections.

AAP’s candidate Gurmail is a post-graduate and before entering politics as a full-time politician, he was a teacher and taught children at various schools till 2018.
