Delhi BJP spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor on Monday expressed shock over Aam Aadmi Party leader Saurabh Bhardwaj accusing the state government in connection with Sunday’s fatal accident, calling the remarks “irresponsible” and “factually incorrect.”
Kapoor said that before attempting to link the incident to the closure of the Farishtey Scheme, Bhardwaj should have verified the facts.

He pointed out that the accident victims were not taken to the hospital by police or a good Samaritan, but by the woman driver whose alleged rash driving had caused the accident.

He further noted that only the police investigation can determine why the driver chose to take the victims to a hospital nearly 17 km away from Dhaula Kuan, where the mishap occurred.
“The accused taking the victims to a far-off hospital has no connection with the Farishtey Scheme,” Kapoor said, adding that the scheme was not scrapped by the BJP government but had already collapsed in 2023 due to non-payment of hospital bills by the then Arvind Kejriwal-led government.
