The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Thursday hit out at the Delhi government, accusing it of staging cleaning drives while the city continues to reel under heaps of garbage despite the BJP-led ‘four-engine’ rule.
Opposition leaders called out the saffron party for staging the drama of ‘Seva Pakhwada’ on the Prime Minister’s birthday, instead of cleaning the city.

To expose the lies of Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP), AAP launched a social media campaign, ‘Kaam Kabaada, Kaisa Seva Pakhwada’ led by AAP Delhi unit president Saurabh Bharadwaj.
Under this campaign, AAP councillors will post daily videos of garbage from different parts of Delhi on social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, exposing the failures of the BJP’s so-called ‘four-engine’ government, read the official statement.
Encouraging public participation, Bhardawaj appealed to Delhiites to make videos of garbage in their areas and share them on social media.
Meanwhile, the Leader of Opposition (LoP) from the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), Ankush Narang, posted photos and videos on his social media account, highlighting the heaps of trash across the city, including Timarpur, Kadipur, and Dhirpur in the Civil Lines area.
“Their so-called campaign of ‘Delhi ko kude se aazadi’ turned out to be a big lie. The reality is that the streets of Delhi are still full of garbage,” Narang wrote on X.
Alleging that the government is indulging in optics, he added, “The BJP is again pretending with Seva Pakhwada on 17 September, the Prime Minister’s birthday. But we want to say — first do your work, then talk about ‘seva’.”
