AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj on Monday raised questions about the transparency and purpose of the special intensive revision exercise initiated by the Election Commission, adding that the same is being misused to alter voter lists across the country.

He said despite the revision drive, many migrants from Bihar reportedly continue to be registered as voters both in their home state and in their current states of residence, such as Haryana, Delhi, and Uttar Pradesh.

He argued this duplication should not have been possible if the verification process was conducted properly.

The AAP leader connected this to election-time logistics, alleging that the true objective of the revision is to collect voter address data.

This information, he claimed, is then used by the BJP to organize free travel and provide financial inducements to bring these voters back to their home constituencies to vote. He cited the alleged use of special trains during previous elections in Bihar and Delhi as examples of this practice.
