Reliance Jio has emerged as the top-performing telecom operator in terms of upload and download speed as well as call connectivity on key road and railway routes spanning Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, according to the Independent Drive Test (IDT) conducted by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) in July 2025.

The test covered routes between Shahdol (Madhya Pradesh) and Korba and Rajnandgaon (Chhattisgarh), where Jio outperformed rivals Airtel, Vodafone Idea, and BSNL across multiple parameters. TRAI data shows that Jio recorded the highest average upload speed of 21.28 Mbps, compared with Airtel (15.57 Mbps), Vodafone Idea (15.43 Mbps), and BSNL (3.30 Mbps). In download speed, Jio again led with an impressive 228.09 Mbps, while Airtel registered 82.67 Mbps, Vodafone Idea 29.78 Mbps, and BSNL 1.34 Mbps.

The TRAI test, conducted from 7–11 July 2025, covered 392.8 km of city routes, 8.2 km of walking tests in Shahdol and Korba, 153.6 km of highways between Shahdol and Korba, and 268.9 km of railway routes between Korba and Rajnandgaon. Officials noted that Jio’s low network latency makes it particularly suitable for real-time services such as video calls, online meetings, and gaming.
