A latest survey has revealed that the work-life balance, property ownership, health, financial security and travel are among the top ten goals for women.

There has been over two times the spike in the average number of life goals of Indian women across both metros and non-metros. This is slightly higher than men.

The survey, conducted by the Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance titled ‘Life Goals Preparedness’, has said that the overwhelming 86 per cent of respondents prioritised work-life balance, followed by children’s education, owning a dream home, health, fitness and travel goals.

It further said that 71 per cent of women prioritise providing financial security for their family. It also said that 46 per cent of women express uncertainty about realising their life goals, an increase from 39 per cent in 2019, suggesting a confidence gap that is wider than that observed in men.

Also, 49% of women seek detailed expert advice for financial planning. The survey also highlighted that providing financial security for the family remains the number one life goal of Women in 2023.

Further, 62 per cent of Women want to live a peaceful life and over 42 per cent want to have a good work-life balance. Personal fitness along with travel goals have gained significance in Women’s priority list.

Out of five women, three have the goal to provide for children’s education, and over one in two women have the goal of getting a dream home, the survey said.

Physical and mental fitness is a life goal for close to one in two women in 2023, it added.

The survey highlighted that more than one in three women want to pursue travel goals, while life insurance is the most preferred investment option for 70 per cent of the Life Goals. A total 49 per cent of women cite the need for expert financial advice.

In terms of financial security for families, 53 per cent women said they need detailed expert advice while 55 per cent of women need expert advice to plan towards child education.

For the Life Goal, close to 60 per cent women need expert advice to plan towards retirement.

Notably, the survey also highlighted that over 50 per cent of their life goals are difficult to achieve. In the survey, 1,936 women across 13 cities including metros, Tier-1 and emerging Tier-2 cities were covered.

At the survey, the cities covered were New Delhi, Ludhiana and Bareilly, Kolkata, Patn, Bhubaneswar, Mumbai, Surat, Amravati, Chennai, Bangalore, Madurai and Guntur.
