Nadir Godrej resigns as MD and Chairman of Godrej Industries

Godrej Industries Limited informed the stock exchange on Monday that Nadir Godrej, Chairperson of the Godrej Industries Group has resigned as Managing Director and Chairperson of Godrej Industries, adding that he will retire upon turning 75 in August 2026 and assume the role of Chairman Emeritus.

“He will step down from the boards of Godrej Industries Limited, Godrej Agrovet, Godrej Consumer Products and Godrej Properties. He has also stepped down as Chairperson and Non-Executive Director of Astec LifeSciences, effective April 13, 2026,” according to the statement.

Pirojsha Godrej will be appointed as the Chairperson of the board and the Chairperson of Godrej Industries Group with effect from August 14. Pirojsha has already been designated as Chairperson-Designate with immediate effect.

“I am very confident that our leadership team will continue to build forward and create even more sustainable, long-term value for our stakeholders. I will always be available to support you in anyway I can,” Nadir Godrej said in a letter to the board of directors.

Based on the recommendation of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee, the board of directors also approved the appointment of Burjis Godrej as a Non-Executive, Non-Independent Director of the company.

Burjis Godrej will take on the role of Chairperson of Godrej Agrovet and will join the Board of Godrej Industries Limited as a Non-Executive Director, effective August 14, 2026. He has stepped down as Managing Director of Astec LifeSciences with immediate effect and will continue to serve on its Board as a Non-Executive Director.

Vishal Sharma, CEO of Godrej Chemicals, has been appointed Chairperson of Astec LifeSciences with immediate effect. Arijit Mukherjee, currently COO of Astec LifeSciences, will be appointed Executive Director.
