After BJP win, Nifty hits record high, Sensex jumps over 1,000 points

Amid volatility, the key Indian equity indices traded on a negative note on Friday afternoon.
Although firm global cues lifted the indices earlier in the day, heavy selling pressure in auto and metal counters depressed the market around 1.50 p.m.
Index-wise, the NSE Nifty50 traded at 10,980 points (1.54 p.m.), lower by 2.45 points or 0.02 per cent from the previous close.

The BSE Sensex, which had opened at 36,452.74 points, traded at 36,272.91 points, down 51.26 points or 0.14 per cent from the previous close of 36,324.17 points.
So far, it has touched an intra-day high of 36,551.86 points and a low of 36,208.01.
