Hinduja Group’s Ashok Leyland inaugurates electric vehicle plant in Lucknow

Ashok Leyland sold 8,340 vehicles in April, said a company statement.
Commercial vehicles major’s 7,961 units were sold in the domestic market.

A total of 4,007 light commercial vehicles and 4,333 medium and heavy commercial vehicles were sold last month.

On a month-on-month basis, sales declined significantly from 17,231 units in March. The decline can be attributed to the severe second wave of Covid-19 and the resultant restrictions and lockdowns.

Ashok Leyland Chairman Dheeraj Hinduja said that the plant was completed in record time, thanks to the support and administrative efficiency of the Yogi government.
He said, "This thinking, this hard work, and this path is what makes a country strong, and this is the path our government is following today."
In November 2014, Ashok Leyland had sold 38 percent stake in Hinduja Tech (HTL) to Nissan International Holdings BV,.
