A new Bengali novel centred on the life of legendary revolutionary Ullaskar Dutta was recently launched at the historic Town Hall. Written by author Debarati Mukhopadhyay, the book delves not only into the struggles of Bengal’s revolutionaries but also into the untold romantic side of Ullaskar Dutta’s vibrant life.
Speaking at the event, Mukhopadhyay described the work as “a novel of both revolution and love,” highlighting that it captures the turbulent era of Bengal’s freedom movement and the intertwined stories of many freedom fighters.

For her research, the author travelled to various places including Silchar, collecting rare historical details and even some previously unseen photographs featured in the book.
The book launch witnessed an enthusiastic gathering of readers from across the state, including visitors from Assam, Burdwan, and Murshidabad.
