Dr Sanjib Bhattacharya, Associate Professor and Deputy Director of UGC-MMTTC at the University of North Bengal (NBU), has been recognised among the world’s Top 2 per cent Scientists in the sub-field of Applied Physics, according to the 2025 global ranking released by Stanford University in collaboration with Elsevier.
An alumnus of North Bengal University and Jadavpur University, Dr Bhattacharya’s inclusion in the list is based on multiple parameters, including citation impact of his research publications during 2024-25. He began his research career in 2003 at the Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science under the supervision of Prof Aswini Ghosh. His work focuses on experimental condensed matter physics and materials science.
