IEM degree conferment ceremony

The Institute of Engineering & Management (IEM), Salt Lake, Kolkata, hosted its Degree Conferment Ceremony on 7 September at its campus. The event was graced by eminent dignitaries, academicians, industry leaders, and graduating students.

Prof. Banani Chakrabarti, president of IEM, delivered the presidential address, highlighting the institution’s vision and commitment to excellence.

Prof Tapas Chakraborty, vice chancellor of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT), delivered the Vice Chancellor’s Address, emphasising the importance of innovation and holistic education. The highlight of the ceremony was the Convocation Address by Prof. Anil Sahasrabudhe, chairman of the National Educational Technology Forum, chairman of the Executive Committee of NAAC, and chairman of NBA, who inspired the graduating students with his insightful words on academic integrity, future opportunities, and the role of youth in nation-building.

Dr. Satyajit Chakrabarti, Director of IEM, extended a Welcome Address, acknowledging the contributions of faculty and parents in shaping the graduating batch and advised the students to remain constantly updated in this highly competitive world specially in Artificial Intelligence, Generative AI, LLMs. The ceremony also witnessed special addresses by Sanjoy Guhathakurta, partner at IBM, and Sonali Bhattacharya, VP at LTI Mindtree, who shared their perspectives on industry-academia synergy and emerging opportunities in the global workforce.
