On the morning of polling day in West Bengal, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who is also contesting from Bhabanipur on a Trinamool Congress (TMC) ticket, made strong allegations against central security forces and poll observers. Speaking to reporters, she claimed that the situation in the state had been tense since the previous night and accused officials of creating fear among TMC workers.

She alleged that posters were removed in several areas and said that central forces, including CRPF personnel and observers, were not following court instructions. According to her, party workers were being taken away from different locations without clear reasons, which she described as an attempt to disturb the election process.
